My name is Oriana Faith Principe - Falcione, and I was part of the Arden Theatre Summer Camp Program, and I LOVED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT! It was probably the best experience of life. The teachers were so amazing, kind, funny, and wonderful. I learned so much in just 3 weeks of that camp, but the one thing I will always remember the most is when, one of the camp conselors: Steve said, "When you sing and your voice beigns to crack, I like to think of it as healthy tension, you are experienceing, and seeing where your range in singing is." I loved when he said that because when I go above and beyond my range I start to crack, and I feel a little stupid beacuse I cant reach that high note. But now I know that I am just not ready to hit it, I need to practice and have patience.
Also, the kids that I met were awsome. I became friends with every single one of them. They were talented, smart, and the nicest kids you will ever meet. The best part about these artistic, talented, kids was that, we never had any fights, with one another nor the teachers. With my friends that I go to school with, there is always drama, and fights. I bleieve that there were no fights with these kids was because the teachers were very open with us and never made us feel less than what we are. Also, even though I had never met any of these people before in my life before this summer camp, I felt by the 3rd day that we had known eachother for years.
I have only one complaint though, the camp was too short. I wish it was for a month. The 3 weeks went by so fast and by the last day, after we all performed, we were all in tears. Yet I keep in touch with every one of them from time to time. Next year, (which I hope there is one!) (I am sure that I am not the only one who feels this way), it should be a month!
(I miss all of you guys, and miss eating in the lobby watching, dancing and singing to Rent!)
My name is Kyla Somerville. I am a student at Doane Academy in Burlington, NJ. I saw the Candide production on Tuesday, October 7. I thought that it was a wonderful production that was better than most of the musicals that I have seen on Broadway or at the Opera Company of Philadelphia. Although I love to read, I have never read Voltaire and this production made me want to read Candide. Most of my peers found it more exciting than they had expected. Not only do I plan to see "My Name Is Asher Lev" but I want to see Scott Greer in "Cherry Bomb" and "Something Intangible'. He is an amazing actor that I enjoyed watching! Also Liz Filios has the most amazing voice that I have ever heard and I want to go see her when ever and where ever she performs! I really apprieciated the oppurtunity to see this and it is an experience that I will never forget!
